The SEO basics to fix before you spend one dirham on ads

Ads rent traffic. Search brings it free, forever — but only if the foundation works. Run these six checks before you top up any ad account.

1. Can Google actually find you?

Search for site:yourdomain.ae on Google. If your pages appear, you are indexed. If nothing appears, no amount of “SEO content” will help until that is fixed — and until it is, you are invisible to every customer who searches instead of clicking an ad.

2. Search your own company name

The easiest test everyone skips. If someone hears about you and searches your name, do they find your site first — or a directory listing, an old Facebook page, or a competitor’s ad on your name? You should own page one for your own name before fighting for anything else.

3. Do your page titles say anything?

Look at your browser tab. If it says “Home” or just your company name, you are wasting the single most important line on the page. A title like “Villa Landscaping in Dubai — [Company]” tells Google and the customer the same thing: what you sell and where.

4. Is there a Google Business Profile — and is it yours?

For any business customers visit or call, the map listing matters as much as the website. Claim it, fill every field, keep the hours honest, and answer the reviews — including the bad ones. Unclaimed profiles get filled in by strangers.

5. Does every service have its own page?

One “Services” page listing ten offerings ranks for none of them. A page per service — with real detail, prices or price logic, and photos of actual work — is the most reliable SEO work a small business can commission. It is unglamorous, which is why competitors skip it.

6. Is the site fast on a phone?

Speed is a ranking factor, but the bigger loss is human: searchers bounce from slow pages, and Google notices the bouncing. We wrote a separate guide — how to test your own speed in five minutes.

Then, and only then, buy ads

Ads amplify what exists. Pointed at a fast site with real service pages, they compound: the click lands, the page convinces, the visitor converts, and tracking tells you which dirham did the work. Pointed at a broken foundation, ads are a subscription to other people’s attention — cancel the payment and the traffic dies the same hour.

The right order costs the same money. It just spends it once, on things you keep.
